Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information AzRated collects when you ask for a quote or book an assessment, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
AzRated is a domestic energy assessment service operated by Azhhaan Rabbani, based in E12, London, and working across all London boroughs. For anything in this notice you can reach us at contact@azrated.co.uk or +44 7386 645915. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
When you submit the quote form, or contact us by phone or email, we collect:
- your name;
- your phone number and email address;
- the address or postcode of the property to be assessed;
- the service you need and whether you are a homeowner, landlord or agent;
- anything else you choose to tell us in the notes field.
If you go on to book an assessment, we also record details about the property itself — construction, heating, insulation, glazing and lighting — gathered during the survey.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and provide a quote. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out the assessment and produce your certificate or floor plan. Our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you.
- To lodge the Energy Performance Certificate on the national register. Our lawful basis is a legal obligation — an EPC is only valid once lodged, and this is a legal requirement of the assessment.
- To keep records for accounting and accreditation audits. Our lawful basis is a legal obligation and our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
We do not use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.
Who we share it with
- The national EPC register (operated on behalf of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities). Lodged certificates, including the property address, are published there and are publicly searchable. This is how EPCs work by law — it is not optional.
- Elmhurst Energy, our accreditation scheme, which audits assessments for quality and compliance.
- Web3Forms, which delivers quote-form submissions to our inbox, and our email provider.
- Our accountant and HMRC, for invoices and tax records.
We will also disclose information where we are legally required to. Nobody else receives your details.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to a completed assessment are kept for as long as the certificate is valid (ten years), because our accreditation scheme can audit them during that period. Invoices and financial records are kept for six years, as tax law requires.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and your IP address is visible to them as part of that request. No other third-party scripts run on this site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- transfer it to another provider.
Email contact@azrated.co.uk and we will respond within one month. Note that we cannot remove a lodged EPC from the national register — once a certificate is lodged it stays there for its ten-year life, and that is outside our control.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
